Course Setter's Notes - Event Notes
DIRECTIONS:
From North Canberra – Travel to Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve via Cotter Road and Paddy’s River Road - approx. 40-50 minutes.
From South Canberra – Travel to Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve via Point Hut Road and Tidbinbilla Road – approx 25-35 mins.
ENTRY TO TNR:
Park in the Carpark and go into the Visitor Information Centre to collect an entry ticket. There will be a separate table for orienteers to collect their tickets, rather than at the normal counter. Put your entry ticket on the car dashboard. TNR have very kindly waived the entry fee for orienteers, but we will be collecting gold coin donations at the parking area. If you have a Tidbinbilla annual pass, enter the reserve as usual.
Travel approx. 800m on Tidbinbilla Ring Road and turn right at the Discovery Playground road. Follow this to the end (Webbs picnic area) and park as directed.
COURSES: (distance and climb)
R1 6.8km (320m), R2 5.9km (250m), R3 4.8km (200m), R4 3.2km (110m), O1 4.8km (225m), O2 3.7km (145m), Green 2.3km (70m), Blue 1.9km (35m).
The Blue course will have some taped legs. Please explain this to children doing this course.
We highly recommend that you take a whistle with you out on these courses.
SCHOOLS TEAM SELECTION:
School students doing the selection races will start first, which may mean other competitors will not be able to begin until around 10.10am.
ENTRY FEES:
Member adult $10, member junior $7. non-member adult $15, non-member junior $10. Hire of sportident card $5.
Note: EFTPOS payment will not be available at this event, cash only.
Starts between 10am & 12pm. Course Closure 2pm.
