COVID-19 EVENT ENTRY POLICY

Anyone entering an OACT event MUST comply with the current Covid-19 health advice in both their home state and the ACT, as at 24 hours prior to the event. Note that while travelling, it is your responsibility to maintain physical distancing and practice good hygiene. See also the OACT Covid-19 Return to Play Plan here: http://act.orienteering.asn.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/OACT-Return-to-Play-Plan-in-a-COVID-Safe-Environment-200531.pdf

Refunds of entry fees will be considered for anyone who is unable to attend the event due to Covid-19 restrictions. Information on travel to and from the ACT can be found here: https://www.covid19.act.gov.au/community/travel

ASSEMBLY:

Carpark on Canopus Crescent, Giralang, west of the soccer fields. If it is raining, then the assembly area will be under the nearby Dodwell St bridge.

TOILETS:

Toilets: Inside the Maribyrnong St shops, north Kaleen. (South edge of map)

ENTRIES:

Three entry options are available:

1. Season Pass covering all 12 Street Series events in October-December. $36 adults, juniors free. Available via Eventor here: https://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/Events/Show/10533

2. Pre-entry to individual events. $5 adults, juniors free. Enter via each event's Eventor page.

3. Enter on the day at the event. $5 adults, juniors free. Exact change cash only. Pre-entry is preferred.

STARTS:

Start at any time between 5:40pm and 6:15pm.

COURSES:

All courses have time limit of one hour.

The A course will be all 20 controls. This will be 8-9km in distance, but the suburb is steep.

Course A: 20 of 20 controls. Course B: any 15 of 20 controls. Course C: any 12 of 20 controls. Course D: any 8 of 20 controls. Power walk: visit as many controls as possible in one hour. Distance of courses ranges from about 3km up to 8km.

No punching the control card, tick the boxes on the card or use MapRunF on your Smartphone. Please pre-enter, bring a pen and a watch or other timing device.

MAPRUN

The course will be available via MapRunF from 8am Saturday, so you can do it any time over the weekend, and again on Monday if you want.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

The suburb is very steep. The course has been set to cover a relatively small area to compensate.

The course has been set to avoid crossing the concrete canal and the ponds in the south and SW of the map. These can become slippery/deep after rain.

Please use road underpasses where possible. There are four underpasses.

There are more structures south of the school than are marked on the map. This shouldn't affect navigation.

Spigl St, N of #13, is best crossed using the steps.
