See also the OACT Covid-19 Return to Play Plan here: http://act.orienteering.asn.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/OACT-Return-to-Play-Plan-in-a-COVID-Safe-Environment-200531.pdf
Refunds of entry fees will be considered for anyone who is unable to attend the event due to Covid-19 restrictions. Information on travel to and from the ACT can be found here: https://www.covid19.act.gov.au/community/travel
ENTRIES:
Newcomers who have not orienteered previously may enter on the day at the event. ALL OTHERS PRE-ENTRY ONLY - either by purchasing a season pass or entry to individual events via eventor.
Season pass holders who wish to change their course/class can do so by visiting the season pass Eventor page prior to any event.
ASSEMBLY AREA:
Near the corner of Alexandrina Drive and Hopetoun Circuit. Park in designated parking areas and not along either Alexandrina Drive or Hopetoun Circuit
COURSES:
Moderate 1 (2.6km), Moderate 2 (1.9km), Easy (1.5km), Very Easy (1.5km), plus a modified training map for the Moderate 1 course.
The Moderate 1 course has a map flip at control number 9.
There are many controls in the area which are often relatively close together. Competitors should check control numbers.
MAP
The map scale is 1:5,000 with 2.5 metre contours.
The map has been partially updated for this event but vegetation boundaries should be regarded as indicative only rather than definitive for navigation purposes. There are many termite mounds in the area. Most of them are small being roughly 0.3m to 0.5m in height.
TOILETS
The nearest public toilets are approximately 150 m west of the assembly area.
STARTS:
Between 17:00 and 18:30.
COURSE CLOSURE:
Courses close at 19:00. You MUST report to the finish by 19:00, whether you have finished your course or not.
MAP MATES JUNIOR COACHING:
In primary school, or even younger, and want to know more about orienteering? Meet at 17:10 each week at the “Blue Sparks" banner, where there will be 15 mins of orienteering skills training, to get you ready to head out and attack the course. No need to sign up, just enter the event and turn up ready to be a wild runner!
