MAP: Tidbinbilla, 1:10,000, 5m contours.
ENTRIES: Pre-entry only. Entries close 11:59pm Wednesday 9 September. This is not a joke – NO late entries and NO Enter on the Day.
COURSES (length, climb):
Hard 1 (5.4km, 240m), Hard 2 (4.6km, 205m), Hard 3 (3.5km, 150m), Hard 4 (2.6km, 125m), Moderate 1 (3.5km, 110m), Moderate 2 (2.4km, 95m), Easy (2.3km, 85m), Very Easy (1.6km, 60m).
COURSE SETTER'S NOTES:
The map has a lot of green ( slow run, and very slow run) which is best avoided if possible. Most of it is very scratchy too, so full body cover is recommended. The green also makes the tracks marked on the map harder to see (on the map), so parents of young juniors should consider shadowing their children on the Easy or Very Easy courses.
The Hard and Mod1 courses all cross the creek that runs down the middle of the map. It is possible that it may be hard to avoid getting wet feet when crossing the creek, depending on rainfall prior to the event. And consider wider route choices than you might normally make to avoid the green, especially if it includes crossing the creek.
