AREA DESCRIPTION:

A combination of private land and Yanununbeyan Conservation Area in Primrose Valley. The terrain is classic canberra spur gully with small areas of rock and erosion detail.

The assembly area is off Woolcara Lane, approximately 45 minutes drive south east from Canberra via Captains Flat Road.

ENTRIES:

Pre-entry only. Entries close 11:59pm Wednesday 19 August.

Member adult $27, member junior (under 21) $14, member family $68. Non-member adult $42, non-member junior $32, non-member family $116. Hire of sportident stick $5.

Late entries available for Hard 4, Moderate 2, Easy and Very Easy until 5:00pm Saturday 22 August. +50% late entry fee applies.

No entry on the day.

COURSES (length, climb):

Hard 1 (8.9km, 430m), Hard 2 (7.1km, 355m), Hard 3 (5.5km, 240m), Hard 4 (4.2km, 175m), Hard 5 (3.0km, 140m), Moderate 1 (4.3km, 140m), Moderate 2 (2.9km, 95m), Easy (2.4km, 95m), Very Easy (1.6km, 70m).

COURSE SETTER'S NOTES:

The terrain is classic, fast running, Canberra spur gully with small areas of rock detail and some thicker tea tree vegetation. Longer hard courses cross areas of subtle contour detail and runners will visit complex erosion gullies. The easy and very easy courses both have taped routes. Vegetation mapping has been updated by David and Matt Stocks for this event. There will be water available on the Moderate and Hard courses only.

STARTS:

Between 10:00am and 12:00pm.

The start is 1 km from assembly with 55 m climb.

COURSE CLOSURE:

Courses close at 2:00pm. You must report to the finish by 2:00pm, whether you have finished your course or not.

DIRECTIONS & INFORMATION:

From Queanbeyan drive towards Bungendore on the Kings Highway. After 2.5km turn right at the roundabout onto Captains Flat Road. After a further 19km turn right into Woolcara Lane. Follow Woolcara Lane (gravel road) 11km to the event arena.

There could be loose stock on Woolcara Lane, so please take care driving to and from the event. The start is 1 km from assembly with 55 m climb. Note the property south-west of the start is strictly out of bounds. Safety bearing is west to Woolcara Lane and then to assembly.
