Focus On Girls is a girls only training group that welcomes women of all ages and skill levels.
Run as a short series over 4 weeks twice a year it offers girls new to orienteering, the chance to learn skills, and for the more experienced, the chance to refresh technical skills for the upcoming season.
For all girls it’s a chance to meet like-minded young women – independent and with a drive to lead, rather than follow. Prevailing characteristics amongst the group are risk taking and problem solving – essentials for tackling outdoor adventure sports!
At least 3 FOG participants this season are focusing on the upcoming schools’ team selection trials. Others, straight from last year’s SC-ORE school orienteering or sporting schools programs, are keen to extend themselves from campus navigation to testing terrains beyond the school grounds. All are keen for fun female forest friends – that’s what FOG is all about!
The final 2019 Summer FOG is happening this Friday. If you’d like to know more about how to connect with this and other training opportunities email OACT.
“Coach or be coached” sessions open to all members will be held on Wednesday 13 March and Wednesday 20 March. The sessions are for anyone wanting to be coached AND any members who are keen to learn how to coach others; contact the office for details.
