Two juniors are sharing the lead in 2021-22 Runners Shop Twilight Series after three races. Eleven-year-old Hayden Dent and 19-year-old Ewan Shingler are equal on 249 points from their best two scores from the first three events. Dent won race two at Stromlo West from Shingler by nearly five seconds on corrected time and on Wednesday, Shingler reversed the order by beating Dent by nearly 10 seconds.
Dent is by far the youngest competitor to win a race under the unique ACT age/gender handicap system. His first win was in a Twilight Series race on 6 March 2021 at Aranda Snowgums and again a week ago.
Husband and wife pair, Matthew and Grace Crane are locked in equal third place on 244 points, with Cath Chalmers fifth on 242 points.
