The calendar of Orienteering ACT events for 2026 has now been published.
Sprint Series
The upcoming 2025-26 Sprint Series will resume after the Christmas-New Year hiatus on 11 January, with several new venues planned before the series finale at St Mary MacKillop College on 22 February.
Twilight Series
The 2025-26 Runners Shop Twilight Series will also return in 2026, resuming on Wednesday 4 February and continuing until 13 March at Commonwealth Park, which will be followed by the 2025 OACT Annual Awards presentations.
Capital O
Capital O will be on the Canberra Day long weekend of 7-8 March.
The weekend will include two NOL Sprint events (including ACT League public races) and the ACT Middle Distance Championships.
Classic Series
The 2026 Classic Series begins with Capital O and the ACT Relays in March.
A combined ACT League & NSW State League weekend, including the ACT Long Distance Championships is on in May at Cootamundra, using the Split Rock map from the 2019 Australian Championships.
New for 2026, late entries will be available for select classes at most non-championship Classic Series events. Normal entries will continue to close on the Wednesday before each event, with late entries available until 5pm on the day before each event, an additional late entry fee of +50% will apply.
Metro Series
13 Metro Series events are scheduled from 2 May until 29 August, including a combined ACT League event at Isaacs Ridge on 1 August.
Oceania 2026
Orienteering ACT is hosting the 2026 Oceania Championships, including the Australian Schools Orienteering Championships, from 26 September to 4 October. More information coming soon on the event website.
Other Event Series
On top of all that, there will be Mountain Bike Orienteering and Ski Orienteering events, and the Midweek Series of Wednesday lunch time events is expected to run from May to September, in addition to the MapRun Street Series on Monday evenings throughout the year.
