2022 Autumn Classics Challenge

The Autumn Classics Challenge was a competition based on the results of all Hard courses in the two events of the 2022 Autumn Classics. Competitors’ results were matched against the OACT age/gender handicap table to create a standardised kilometre rates for all finishers of Hard courses. The concept was developed in the late 1980s, by Bob Allison and Bob Mouatt, and has been refined over the years since. It was last revised in 2016 and covers all ages from 10 to 86. The process was first used for the determining the Orienteer of the Year in 1990 and expanded to create the Runners Shop Twilight Series in 1996-97.

For the 2022 Autumn Classics Challenge, the results of all finishers on Hard courses in both events were processed through software which standardised kilometre rates and awarded points from 125 downwards at one-point intervals. For this competition, the best two scores were aggregated to determine the overall placings.
