Three ACT Athletes Named in Australian Team for European Youth Championships

The Australian Squad for the 2025 European Youth Orienteering Championships (EYOC) was announced yesterday!

Sincere congratulations to the three ACT athletes who made the team: M16 Hayden Dent, M18 Elye Dent, W16 Ariadna Iskhakova. In addition, Aoife Rothery has been named as a reserve in W18. The full team is listed below.

The team will represent Australia at the 2025 European Youth Orienteering Championships in Brno, Czech Republic, from 16 to 20 July. This is the largest and most prestigious orienteering competition for youth Orienteering athletes competing in the W/M 16–18 classes. This year, more than 400 youth athletes from 28 countries — including nations beyond Europe such as Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Israel — will compete in Brno across three formats: Long, Sprint, and Relay.

EYOC is considered a fantastic springboard to the Junior World Orienteering Championships (JWOC). It combines a truly global orienteering atmosphere, high-quality events on technical terrain, and a thrilling sense of camaraderie among like-minded Orienteering teens from around the world:)! ACT Red Roos Marina Iskhakova and Fedor Iskhakov are taking on the roles of Squad Coach and Squad Manager of the Team. We are wishing a wonderful experience to everyone!
