Want to learn to read a map and use a compass?
Join one of our upcoming ‘Learn to Orienteer’ programs.
It’s for anyone who wants to learn to orienteer – from 8 years old and up, children, teenagers, and adults.*
Lessons are conducted in small groups. We will focus on different skills and give participants plenty of opportunities to have fun exploring techniques to build confidence in using a map to navigate. You will be taught how to orientate a map, reading a map and understanding map symbols, how to use a compass, thumbing the map, using handrails and much more.
*Each participant under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian present for the session, and we encourage parents/carers’ to participate. The activities will be designed so that parents/guardians can join in as well, learn to orienteer and have fun with us.
