Red Roos are hosting a special ACT League middle distance event at a new map of Tin Hut Dam (Googong) as a tribute to Bob Mouatt on this Sunday, 1 September. Enter here before 11:59pm Wednesday 28 August, there will be no late entries or entry on the day.
Bob Mouatt sadly passed away on Sunday 30 June 2024. Bob was a stalwart orienteering promoter, communicator, manager, organiser, planner, controller, competitor, mentor, and mate. Bob’s tireless service to orienteering was recognised through his award of the Medal of the Order of Australia, through his induction as an Associate Member of the ACT Sport Hall of Fame, and through his induction to the Orienteering Australia Hall of Fame.
This event will take place on a new map of the previously unused area around Tin Hut Dam at the southern part of Googong Foreshores, around 40 minutes drive from central Canberra. There will be an interesting variety of terrain, with rocky outcrops, erosion gullies, vegetation detail, and a picturesque assembly area.
