Ski Orienteers Took on Unforgettable Spring-Like Adventure at Perisher!

30 resilient Ski Orienteers took on a beautiful adventure in a spring-like Perisher Valley. With average daily temperatures 3-4C and limited snowfalls over the season, the traditional ACT & NSW Ski-Orienteering Championship was on the edge of cancellation.

Participants from three states – ACT, NSW and VIC – tolerated numerous grass patches and enjoyed interrupted snow cover – all that they had to endure to complete their Championships courses.

Without their adventurous spirit the event wouldn’t be possible. Ultra fast times were set in the Long Female class by Maria Plyaschechko (former Junior World Champion in ski-archery biathlon) and in Long Male by Angus Shedden, they both cleared the tough course in under an hour.

Greg Terrill and Nicole Clark took gold in respective Middle Male and Female categories. Rory Shedden and Tash Thackray won Short Male and Female categories.
