As with the previous week at Mt Majura, Martin Dent coped better than other competitors with the steep, rocky terrain of Mt Taylor to record the fastest time of 30 min 6 sec for the 4.9 km Moderate 1 course, which with his age/gender handicap factor 0.9100 converted to a km rate of 5 min 35.40 sec, the fastest for the race, but over 30 seconds slower than at Mt Majura.
The placings in the two Moderate courses were:
- Moderate 1: 4.9 km: Climb: 170 m, 16 controls: Men: 1. Martin Dent 30:06, 2. Paul de Jongh 32:42, 3. David Stocks 33.05; Women: 1. Grace Crane 38:51, 2. Shannon Jones 42:35, 3. Justine Hobson 46:34.
- Moderate 2: 3.2 km: Climb 120 m,12 controls: Men: 1. Dean Davies 34:43, 2. Eoin Rothery 36:49, Max Walter 37:01; Women: 1. Belinda Allison 35:34, 2. Aoife Rothery 39:06, 3. Ella Hogg 40.46.

After the handicap factors were applied, Martin Dent, had the fastest corrected kilometre rate of 5 min 35.40 sec, about 26 seconds faster than Grace Crane, with a further 18 seconds to Shannon Jones. The top 10 on corrected time, which did not include anyone from the Moderate 2 course, were:
