The fifth event in the 2022-23 Runners Shop Twilight Series was difficult for course planner Cath Chalmers and competitors alike. Apart from the extremely long grass, a product of the prolonged periods of rain, making running difficult, the grass also concealed many features, including tracks. The conditions seem to favour younger orienteers who filled three of the top five places after handicaps were applied.
The placings in the two Moderate courses were:
- Moderate 1: 3.8 km: 150 m: 19 controls: Men: 1. David Stocks 26:29, 2. Martin Dent 27:25, 3. Owen Radajewski 27:55; Women: 1. Elise Palethorpe 39.09, 2. Justine Hobson 45:03, 3. Shannon Jones 45:21.
- Moderate 2: 2.8 km: 100 m: 18 controls: Men: 1. Brendan Wilson 32:29, 2. Jordic Pellefigue 35:58, 3. Greg Wilson 38:00; Women: 1. Belinda Allison 35:49, 2. Ella Hogg 36:52, 3. Ariadna Iskhakova 40:53.
