There are less than two weeks to go until the 2022 ACT Mountain Bike Orienteering Series begins with an event at Bruce Ridge on Sunday 27 February.
The ACT MTBO Series is for everyone! For those who have practiced MTBO skills for a while, for experienced orienteers wanting to try MTB orienteering, and for absolute beginners.
Bruce Ridge features an intricate network of fun single tracks amongst native eucalyptus forest. Those looking for technical route choice challenges are sure to be rewarded.
Comments from Course Setter:
Courses will have a mix of fast flowing single track and fire trails. Some areas are quite sandy or rocky at the moment. All tracks should be regarded as two-way: it’s a small area and you should be on the look-out for oncoming riders at all times. Keep left and downhill riders should give way to those going up hill.
A range of courses will be offered to suit all levels of experience, including absolute beginners:
Course | Length (straight line/actual) | Controls | Expected Winning Time |
Long | 8km/~12km | 15 | 1 hr |
Middle | 6km/~8km | 10 | 50 min |
Short | 3km/~5km | 8 | 40 min |
Novice | 2km/~3km | 6 | 30 min |
Start anytime between 9am and 10.30am. Course closure 1pm.
Map Boards and SI AIR sticks are available for hire.
Please pre-enter via Eventor. Pre-entry closes 26 February.
