ACT Schools have gone wild over orienteering this spring, keeping OACT coaches very busy!!
Wild running combined with wild socks were par for the course for Year 3 girls from Canberra Girls Grammar’s HERO program recently as they navigated Weston Park. With the grass growing before our very eyes, some quick thinking and creative suggestions resulted in a fun filled candy-cane like scene in the park.
It has also been great having several schools from the ACT participating in the development of a new national schools coaching curriculum for orienteering. Many thanks to Year 3/4 students at St Jude’s School at Holder, Year 5/6 at Charles Weston Primary and Year 7 at Melba Copland Secondary School for going o’ing with us.
Plenty of fun had all round!
