If you haven’t, now is a good opportunity.
If you don’t know what MapRun is, here is a quick rundown.
MapRun uses an ‘app’ (called MapRunF) that you can download to your smartphone for free. The app is used for orienteering and rogaining, substituting physical controls with electronic controls that are ‘punched’ when your phone’s GPS detects that you are in close vicinity.
Does it sound complicated? It is not, all you need to do is download the app and register, then you can look for available courses in the ACT, or elsewhere.
You can do the courses when it suits you, you can walk or run or combine the two. It is up to you.
More information, course lists, results, and map download are all available via the OACT MapRun page.
A Challenge for all our OACT orienteers:
- Will anyone manage all courses by the end of June?
- Who will have the fastest times, most controls and other individual achievements? Results will be published in future OACT website articles.
- Can you beat the current leaders listed below, and get your name up there?
