Three Cockatoos Women Return to Form at Mt Ainslie

Three key women members of the Canberra Cockatoos showed a pleasing return to form in event #12 of the 2018-19 Runners Shop Twilight Series on the western slopes of Mount Majura West last Wednesday.  After Fredo Tranchand, who was the top competitor on corrected (for age and gender) kilometre rate, Zoe Melhuish, Mace Neve and Tara Melhuish were the next best scoring 124, 123 and 122 points respectively.  The consistent David Stocks was fifth best on the day.

There was no change in the order of the five on progressive points. The top five competitors with best seven scores are:

  • Martin Dent 868 points
  • David Stocks 860
  • Toni Brown 860
  • Zoe Melhuish 850
  • Ella Cuthbert 847

Tranchand is the only competitor who is likely to challenge the top the three and much will depend upon the results in the final three events.

The results are here, the Winsplits are here, the standings are here and maps and photos from the event are here.

Wednesday’s event will be at Aranda Bushlands.  The course planner is Joseph Wilson for Bushflyers and the details of his courses are:

  • Orange 1: 4.5 km: 16 controls
  • Orange 2: 3.2 km: 12 controls
  • Brown: 2.4 km: 14 controls
  • Green: 2.3 km: 10 controls
  • Blue: 2.1 km: 11 controls
