Orienteering Australia has offered the following athletes a place in the Australian team for the World Junior Championships in Hungary in July:
Girls: Rachel Allen, Zoe Dowling, Tara Melhuish, Zoe Melhuish, Caroline Pigerre, Asha Steer
Boys: Joe Dickenson, Alistair George, Angus Haines, Patrick Jaffe, Aston Key, Patrick Miller.
For Miller and Zoe Meluish it will be their first World Junior Championships. Zoe is probably the youngest orienteer selected for as she will not turn 16 until 10 November. And she and Tara will be the third pair of sisters from the ACT to go to JWOC together. Belinda and Jo Allison both went to Italy in 1993 and the Minty sisters Julia and Rebecca both went to Belgium in 1997 and Bulgaria in 1999.
