The 2025-26 Runners Shop Twilight Series was decided with yesterday’s final race at Commonwealth Park. Going into the event, there was a mathematical possibility that any one of Banjo Bluett-Jones, Hayden Dent, or Ryan Stocks could emerge victorious, although it was always going to be difficult for Stocks to achieve the score he needed at this venue.
A strong run from Elyse Care proved consequential, denying Bluett-Jones the top-two finish she required to overhaul Dent in the standings. The result was a tie between Dent and Bluett-Jones for first place in the 2025-26 series – the first time the Runners Shop Twilight Series has been tied since 2003.
Maximum points on the day went to Layla Dent, who again showed her speed in this terrain, having also taken top score at Weston Park earlier in the season.
Ryan Stocks had already done enough to secure third place in the series and was also the highest placed adult in a competition that was otherwise dominated by juniors. David Stocks and Geoff Lawford were the only other non-juniors in the top ten, finishing in ninth and tenth respectively.
