The OACT Board is calling for nominations from any interested ACT Juniors who are eligible for selection in the 2022 ACT ASOC team, to compete in the Australian Schools Orienteering Championships, held in conjunction with the Australian Orienteering Championships, in Victoria from 23rd September to 3rd October 2022.
A series of selection trials will be held within the May-July period. Further details of eligibility criteria, team selection commitments, and other relevant information is available in the ACT ASOC trials information document.
Selection Trials
- 1 May 2022 – Boboyan
- 21 May 2022 – Campbell Park
- 5 June 2022 – Foxlow Flat
- 19 June 2022 – Castle Hill (date to be confirmed)
- 26 June 2022 – AIS. This event is the ACT Sprint Championships.
If events are cancelled an extra selection trial may be held on 17 July 2022 at Stringybark Hill.

Your nomination must include the nominee’s name, parent/guardian name and contacts, including email and phone, age (and date of birth), and expected competition class. In 2022 the classes being contested are: Senior Boys/Girls – aged 19 and under at the end of 2022; Junior Boys/Girls – aged 15 and under at the end of 2022. Team members must be at least 12 years of age as at the end of 2022.
Nominations should be submitted by Friday 29th April. However, late nominations may still be accepted after this date.
Selection Trial 1 – This Sunday
Please note that the first event identified as a selection event is this Sunday, 1st May, at Boboyan Divide. It is hoped that as many nominees as possible will be able to participate. However, if you are not able to be there, please let Paul, or Tom de Jongh (ASOC Manager, ) know as soon as possible. Entries for this event close at 9am Friday 29th April. For this event, nominees must enter the following courses:
- Junior Girls – Moderate 2
- Junior Boys – Moderate 1
- Senior Girls – Hard 4
- Senior Boys – Hard 3
It is the responsibility of nominees to ensure that they are entered in each of the selection events before the entry deadline and in the correct course/class.
