On Wednesday evening, course planner for 2021-22 Runners Shop Twilight Series event 11, Colleen Mock, made the most of the area available to her on the Aranda Bushlands map, to present competitors with tough physical challenges for the first half of the Moderate courses and then, on the flatter terrain, introduce navigational challenges, which caused problems for some competitors. Canberra Cockatoos women’s captain, Grace Crane, recorded her second win in the 2021-2022 Twilight Series. Her across-the-line time for her 4.7 km course at Aranda Bushlands was 33 min 30 sec, and after her age/gender factor was applied, her kilometre rate was 5 min 25.02 sec.
The across the line results for the two Moderate courses were:
- Moderate 1: 4.7 km, 110 m climb, 18 controls: Men: 1. Ewan Shingler 30 min 12 sec, 2. David Stocks 30 min 28 sec, 3. Mark Bourne 31 min 11 sec; Women: 1. Grace Crane 33 min 30 sec, 2 Shannon Jones 38 min 13 sec, 3. Elise Palethorpe 41 min 24 sec.
