It was excellent to see so many newcomers and already advanced mountain bike orienteers at the two-day intensive MTBO skills development training weekend. Over four diverse sessions participants learned the fundamentals of MTBO, with many theoretical and practical exercises working on core MTBO skill development pillars, including route choice, map reading, memory development, and terrain-map match. With 7-18 participants per session it was an inspiring atmosphere for everyone to learn. The final session at Bruce Ridge was the first test of the 1.5m range SI-Air system, this is the new world standard in MTBO and participants immediately loved it.
The next ACT MTBO event is this Sunday 28 February, at beautiful Majura Pines, event entry closes this Thursday.
