It’s just a couple of weeks until the second round of the 2019 ACT Mountain Bike Orienteering Series at Bruce Ridge on Sunday 26th of May.
Bruce Ridge features an intricate network of fun single tracks amongst native eucalyptus forest. Course setters and champion MTB orienteers, Eoin Rothery and Cath Chalmers, have made the most of the circuitous trails. Those looking for technical route choice challenges are sure to be rewarded.
Courses will have a mix of fast flowing single track and firetrails. Some areas are quite sandy or rocky at the moment. All tracks should be regarded as two-way: its a small area and you should be on the look out for oncoming riders at all times. Keep left and downhill riders should give way to those going up hill.
A range of courses will be offered to suit all levels of experience, including absolute beginners:
Course | Length (km) | Expected Winning Time |
Long | 15 | 1 hr |
Middle | 11 | 50 min |
Short | 7 | 40 min |
Novice | 2 | 30 min |
Start anytime between 10am and 11.30am.
Map Boards can be hired at the registration.
Please pre-enter via Eventor. Normal entries close Monday 20 May.
