The first event of 2018 ACT MTBO Series kicked off on Saturday 3rd March at Majura Pines.
The event gathered 25 experienced and beginner mtb orienteers, who chose from a challenging long, enjoyable middle, or a quick and fun short course all set by Fedor Iskhakov.
Anthony Newman and Belinda Allison won Long Male and Long Female, Lachlan Young and Cath Chalmers dominated the fields in Middle Male and Middle Female, and Jim Andreson and Cathy Hogg took the prizes in Short Male and Short Female. The full results and splits are available here.
Everyone enjoyed beautiful the single tracks on what was a still, warm, and sunny Saturday on the slopes of Majura Pines.
The next event of the ACT MTBO series will be at Sparrow Hill on 27 May, watch this space!
As this event will be during the week of World Orienteering Day it will also count towards our World Orienteering Day statistics – the first time ever for a MTBO event in Australia.
