COVID-19 EVENT ENTRY POLICY
Anyone entering an OACT event MUST comply with the current Covid-19 health advice in both their home state and the ACT, as at 24 hours prior to the event. Note that while travelling, it is your responsibility to maintain physical distancing and practice good hygiene. See also the OACT Covid-19 Return to Play Plan here: http://act.orienteering.asn.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/OACT-Return-to-Play-Plan-in-a-COVID-Safe-Environment-200531.pdf
Refunds of entry fees will be considered for anyone who is unable to attend the event due to Covid-19 restrictions. Information on travel to and from the ACT can be found here: https://www.covid19.act.gov.au/community/travel
Online entry only. Start anytime between 9:30am & 10:30am. Course closure: 11am sharp! Controls WILL be picked up from 11am even if people haven't finished.
ENTRY FEES: Member adult $10, member junior $7. Non-member adult $15, non-member junior $10.
ASSEMBLY & PARKING: McKellar Park soccer stadium car park, Walkley Place, McKellar
COURSE & MAP:
Length: 3.8 km straight line (4.2 km shortest distance)
Scale: 1:4,000 with 2m contour
Head-to-head: yes
There are numerous uncrossable marshes and creeks on the map, so take care with your route choice. The major roads are marked as Out Of Bounds. Use under-passes or footpaths on bridges to cross the major roads and creeks. Mowing in the past few weeks has improved the runnability, and the map was updated last week to indicate where the dense, long grass remains. Palmerville Heritage Park, in the northern section of the map, is a designated off-leash dog area. Be aware that you may encounter dogs off the leash. Dog owners must have effective control of their dog at all times, whether it is on or off-leash.
Note: Some events may have more than 30 controls. If you have an SI Stick that can't hold more than 30 punches (eg. SICard5 and SICard8), then you will not get all your splits recorded. http://act.orienteering.asn.au/resources/si-sticks/
