The de Jongh brothers have developed a program to automate the scoring system.  The results to date can be found here.  Scores each week depend on the courses run.  An explanation of the scoring is at the top of the results page.

Competitors are divided into two year age classes for men and women.  This information is automatically extracted from the Eventor database.  If there appears to be something odd for your results, then please check your information in Eventor (or sign up if you haven’t already).  If there is still a problem, then please send me an email to matt.stocks18@gmail.com.

There will be a presentation for the Junior League after the conclusion of the High School Champs at Coolmen Ridge.

The closest of the dozen classes was the W18s.  Justine Hobson edged out Natalie Miller by 5 points with a total score of 232, which was the highest total score for a female competitor.  The M18 class also had the highest score for the male competitors with Oscar Brown’s 244 keeping him ahead of Nicholas Brennan and Alex Derlacki.  David Stocks collected 240 points in the M20 class with Oscar Woodford and Tommy Charles rounding out the placings.

The W14 class produced another tight result.  Alice Radajewski’s perfect score of 30 by winning the moderate 1 in the last event closed the gap to 9 points but Sanda Halpin held onto the final lead by 9 points.  The M14s had the largest group with total of 8 competitors qualified.  Ryan Mukherjee, Oliver Bishop and Kristian Maksan occupied the three podium places.  

The M12 classhad a change of leaders on the final day with Zaf Bluett-Jones 13 points for a win on the Easy course taking him past Ben Mansell who missed the event due to COVID, with Joshua Maniti taking third.  Naomi Penton was the sole competitor to qualify in the W12 class, completing 13 of the 15 events.

The placings in the W10 class was separated by just 6 points.  Elodie Leane held onto first place though Tahlia Maniti closed the gap with third on the Easy course.  Patrick Maundrell was the overall champ in the M10, with Arlan Leane second by managing to pass Harrison Collins on the final day.

The top three places in the W16 was achieved by Katherine Maundrell, Anastasia Yeates and Ella Hogg while Joshua Mansell, Thomas Fisher and Aiden Yeates took out the places in M16.

Scores after the 14th round are here.  Total scores are the best 10 results over the season.  A minimum of half the events (seven) are needed to qualify for a final score.  Congratulations to Sanda Halpin who has scored at all 14 events so far this season.

The results are still quite open in the W10 competition.  Current leader, Layla Dent, and Tahlia Maniti have both completed 6 events and so need one more result to qualify for the final count. 

In contrast, the top three in contention for the M10 have all completed their minimum 7 events.  Patrick Maundrell leads by a comfortable margin having completed 10 events so he will be looking for a good result to throw out a lower score.  Harrison Collins is favourite for second with an extra score to be added but Arlan Leane could sneak through with a strong finish.

Hayden Dent, currently leading M12, is in a similar situation to his sister having completed 6 events and needs one more to qualify.   Ben Mansell and Zaf Bluett-Jones are only separated by one point.  Results on the day will determine the order for this class.

Naomi Penton has wrapped up the W12 class with a big lead.  She has completed 13 events and so is throwing out her worst three scores over the season. 

Sanda Halpin has managed to build a big enough gap over Alice Radajewski in the W14 to lock up first in the W12.  Annaliese Bennet can qualify for third by adding to her 6 completed events.

The M14 class has a total of 8 athletes with the potential to complete 7 events.   Ryan Mukherjee and Oliver Bishop have locked up first and second.  However, results on the day will determine if Kristian Maksan, Owen Henderson, Charlie Vyver, Oliver Gotzinger or William Charles will come in third.  

The M16s also have a cohort of 8 who can meet the seven race criteria.   Joshua Mansell cannot be beaten in first while Thomas Fisher has a near insurmountable gap to have a tight grip on second.   Aiden Yates and Max Johnson have some low scores they could throw out so results on Saturday could affect their relative positions.

The top two in the W16 are locked in with the two leaders having completed 8 events.  Katherine Maundrell has a comfortable lead over Anastasia Yeates in second.  Ella Hogg can pick up third if she runs the course on Saturday.

Justine Hobson and Natalie Miller are just separated by 5 points in the W18 class.  They have completed 8 and 9 events respectively so will get the full value of their runs on Saturday to decide the winner.

In contrast, the positions in the M18 class are probably decided.  Oscar Brown has a big buffer in first with current third, Aiden Yeates, needed a win overall on the day to have any chances of bumping Nicholar Brennan out of third. 

Oscar Woolford has a chance of taking the overall lead in the M20 away from David Stocks with a strong showing on Saturday.  Tommy Charles has a clear buffer and will finish third overall.

Four competitors, Oscar Brown, Ben Mansell, Sanda Halpin and Naomi Penton have competed in all 7 rounds and have therefore already met the seven round criteria for a final score in the junior league. 

The last three rounds have seen a diverse range of winners across the different courses.  There was only one multiple event winners in the men’s courses while there has only been a couple of repeat in the women’s.

The mens moderate 1 courses were taken out by David Stocks, Oscar Brown and Oscar Woolford.  This was Oscar’s first run in the Junior League, bringing him into a tie for third in the M20 class with Toby Lang.   Justine Hobson picked up two wins in the womens moderate 1 while Katherine Maundrell picking up the win at Lake G.

In the moderate 2 course, Ariadna Ishakova won the most recent event while Sanda Halpin and Katherine Maundrell finished first in the prior two events.  The spread of winners continued with Aiden Yates and Josh Robards picking up their first wins of the season in rounds 5 and 7, while Hayden Dent picked up his second win of the season in round 6.

Owen Henderson lead the field in the the mens easy courses on Saturday with Patrick Maundrell and Zaf Bluett-Jones taking out the honours the previous 2 rounds.  The first finishers for the womens easy courses were Naomi Penton, Arlan Leane and Layla Dent across rounds 5, 6 and 7, respectively.

Rui Bluett-Jones and Felix Preston picked up two wins each in the most recent three womens and mens very easy courses with Simone Collet and Elliott Bennett picking up the others.

Scores are kept for the Junior League competition.  Competitors compete within male and female age classes with points depending on the course completed.  More difficult courses offer the potential for higher points.  The scores can be found here.

M14 and W14 are the largest men and women classes.  Oliver Bishop is leading the M14, ahead of Ryan Mukherjee and Oliver Gotzinger.    Sandha Halpin has a small lead having completed all three events heading Ariadna Iskhakova with Zoe McCrae and Katy Hogg tied for third.

M12 is tight with Ross Wilkinson, Zaf Bluett-Jones and Hayden Dent battling it out after all three missed the Weston Park event.  Completing all three events has given Naomi Penton the edge to Alma Walter and Harriet Williamson in the W12.

The W10 is the tightest class with just three points separating Veronika Iskhakova and Layla Dent from Tahlia Maniti and Florence Crane.  All five of the M10 competitors have completed all of the events with Patrick Maundrell, Ben Mansell and Arian Leana in the first three places.

M16 is another big class with 8 entrants in the first three rounds.  James Tailby has 38 points over three rounds with Josh Mansell, Max Johnson and Aidan Yeates chasing with two scores so far.  Katherine Maundrell’s pair of 20 point scores has her ahead of Aoife Rothery and Anastasia Yeates.

W18 leader Nat Miller top scored with 30 points on the Moderate 1 course at Isaacs Ridge ahead of Caitlyn Maniti and Justine Hobson tied in second.  Oscar Brown’s three consecutive seconds and Nicholas Brennan’s three thirds along with Henry Gotzinger’s strong finishes make a Grammar 1-2-3 in the M18.  David Stocks’ with two wins and Toby Lang’s win across the Moderate 1 events have the two top spots in M20 with Tommy Charles close behind in third.

The Very Easy courses had the challenge of getting off the tracks and following creeks for a couple of their legs.  Zaf Bluett-Jones managed to get around the mens course ahead of Arlan Leane with their placing maintaining their first and third place in the M10 division.  There was more competition on the female Very Easy course with five competitors, all from the W10 class.  Layla Dent prevented Rui Bluett-Jones from making it a pair of family wins with Rachel Penton taking out third.

The Easy course had an even longer creek leg from control 2 to 3.  This time, the women’s course had fewer competitors with four competitors.  Charlotte Alexander managed to find her way around the course ahead of Naomi Penton whose 11 points maintaining her lead in the W10 class.  The ten competitors in the mens division was comfortably headed by Thuerin Halpin which moved him up to fourth in the M10 class while Stuart Waters was less than a minute ahead of third placed William Charles who maintains second place in the M12 competition.

The Moderate 2 courses started off with a tricky leg across the hill to a small cliff which was the source of the most time losses for the nineteen competitors across the male and female classes.  Joshua Mansell extended his lead in the M14 class with victory ahead of Tom O’Brien and Ryan Mukherjee, with the latter moving into outright third in the same class.  Justine Hobson also extended her lead in the W18 class with her win in the female competition with Sanda Halpin’s second place also maintaining her place at the head of the W14 competition while the W20 competitor Monique Jeacocke took out third..

The biggest field of the day was the Moderate 1 course with 15 junior male competitors taking on the challenge of the longest course.  Competitors faced a huge climb to the top of Mount Taylor over the first few controls and then faced a series of challenging legs in the varying vegetation on the back of the hill.  David Stocks took top honours over Toby Lang to reduce his lead in the M18 class with Oscar Brown’s third place pushing him up the M18 field.

The tightest category is the W14 with Katherine Maundrell having a twelve point lead over Aoife Rother and Emily Hincliffe who are tied for second.  Sandra Halpin heads the W12 class by 11 points over Ariadna Iskhakova with a larger gap back to Aurelie Leane.  There is a battle being fought out between Justine Hobson, Natalie Miller and Ellen Johnson for top honours in the W18s who have shared most of the thirty point scores for winning the Moderate 1 courses.  The other winner of a Moderate 1 event came from Marilla Cavenagh in the first event, and she sits in third with that her only run in the W16 class while Anastasia Yeates holds a strong lead over Amber Walter.  Naomi Penton has opened up a large gap over Layla Dent and Veronika Iskhakova in the W10 class while Clare Alder is the leading as the only competitor in the W20s.

The largest class is the M16 with 17 competitors.  Owen Radajewski has a commanding lead over Henry Gotzinger and Alex Derlacki.  The next largest group is the M14s with Joshua Mansell leading William Laverty while Ryan Mukherjee and Elye Dent are tied for third.  Hayden Dent has also established a sizeable advantage in the M12 class with William Charles edging out Alexander Talby for second.   Ben Mansell and Arlan Leane are separated by only one point for second and third in the M12 class behind leader Zaf Bluett-Jones.  It is almost as tight in the M18 class with Nicholas Brennan in second heading David Stocks by four points behind Toby Lang’s comfortable advantage.  The largest M20 group of the last few years is led by William Thompson ahead of Tommy Charles with Ewan Shingler in third with a solitary win in round 4.

The M20 and W20 events produced very similar outcomes with Ryan Stocks and Elise Palethorp both finishing on the highest scores for the men’s and women’s competitions with a total score of 195 and 192 points respectively.  Braedy Jaugietis and Clare Alder came second with scores of 100 and 107 points.  Ellen Johnson won the W18 class with 131 points as well as achieving the second best junior female time for the Cork Oaks event. 

The M14 division was the largest class with 14 competitors in the final rankings.  Owen Radajewski took out first place with a score of 148 points which was the third highest score overall amongst male competitors.  Charlie Seddon outpointed Connor Lineen for second place. 

The M16 was another large group with the top six separated by just 20 points.  Will Madl lead the way on 105 points while Jacob Miller managed to just get past Nicholas Brennan by a point for second place on 97 with his score in the final event allowing him to throw out his previous low.

Andrew Kerr managed to lock up the M18 competition on 151 points before the final event but Toby Lang didn’t quite manage to catch David Stocks for second despite a strong run at the Cork Oaks. 

The Dent boys, Elye and Hayden, managed to take out both the M12 and M10 classes.  Oliver Gotzinger was the only other M12 competitor to complete five events to take out second.   Ben Mansell’s strong result in the final event kept a fast finishing Thurein Halpin in third.  

The W14 division was the largest class of the women’s fields with 7 competitors qualifiying for the final scores.  Aoife Rothery managed 117 points ahead of Chloe Miller and Anastasia Yeates. 

Natalie Miller and Justine Hobson fought out the W16 class with the second and third highest overal scores in the womens division with 187 and 174 points ahead of Katherine Hinchcliffe.  

The W12 competition was closely fought throughout the season.  Sanda Halpin manage to come out on top with 61 points, benefitting from scores in every event while Ariadna Iskhakova pipped Georgia Hallum by a point with a good score at Cork Oaks.  

Naomi Penton was the winner of the W10 class, getting her best result of the season in the final event.  Aurelie Leane and Layla Dent both improved  their scores in their eighth event by throwing out an earlier lower score to finish in second and third overall.

A total of 28 runners have completed the minimum five courses needed to qualify for the final season scoring.  Of these, 14 have completed all six events and only need one more score to complete the maximum counted and can then look to throw away their worse scores if they complete any more events.

The M16 and M18 boys both have 6 competitors who have completed at least five events with the M14 and M10s close behind with 5.  Two entries in the M20 are at these numbers with a sole competitor reaching 5 in M12.

In the women’s classes, the W10 are leading the way with four competitors completing five or more events, three in the W16 and two in each of the W20 and W14 classes.  The W12 has a single competitor who has manged to complete all six events

Competitors completing all 6 events are Aurelie Leane, Katherine Hinchcliffe, Clare Alder, Zaf Bluett Jones, Charlie Seddon, Connor Lineen, Nicholas Brennan, Lachlan Ho, Jacob Miller, Michael Guthrie, Joseph Wilson and David and Ryan Stocks.

There is a three way tie at the front of the M16s with Lachlan Ho, Will Madl and Jacob Miller all on 50 points.  It is also all even for the top two places in the W10 class with Aurelie Leane and Naomi Penton on 24 points ahead of Rui Bluett-Jones.  Aoife Rothery has broken the tie in the W14 division, taking the outright lead over Chloe Miller with Anastasia Yeates in third.  Zaf Bluett-Jones and Hayden Dent tied on 13 points, keeping their margin at 5 points with Thurien Halpin just a couple of points futher back.

Sanda Halpin has benefitted from the absence of Georgia Hallam and Luca Hogg this week to increase here lead in the W12.  David Stocks and Toby Lang made the most of Andrew Kerr’s absence to reduce the spread between the top three to just nine points.

The Miller family took the maximum 30 points in both the mens and womens competitions with Natalie closing the gap to Justine Hobson to seven points in W16 with Katherine Hinchcliffe 7 points further back.  Patrick’s win jumps him into second over Braedy Jaugietis by one point but still well behind leader Ryan Stocks.

Ellen Johnson picked up some good points after setting last week at the Pinnacle to boost her advantage over Annabel Scott in W18 while Elise Palethorpe did the same relative to Clare Alder in the W20.  Owen Radajewski has opened a significant advantage over Challie Seddon and Connor Lineen who are only separated by a couple of points.  

Elye Dent made the most of Oliver Gotzinger and Haochen Niu absence to increase his comfortable leadin the M12 while Sanda Halpin had similar benefits in the W12, with Georgia Hallam and Luca Hogg still holding down the next two places despite missing this week’s run.
