Trevor Jacobs Alone At The Top

Trevor Jacobs is alone at the table of the table in the 2009-10 Runners Shop Twilight Series with 622 points from his best five scores from nine events (with round seven excluded). Four points behind are Shannon Jones and Oliver Poland, equal on 618 points. Rob Walter on 612 and Phil Walker and Darryl Erbacher, equal on 600 make up the top five.

Jacobs reached the top through scoring the maximum 125 points for his time of 38 min 5 sec for the 6.1 km Orange 1 course at Wednesday’s event at the ANU. Next best (124 points) was Jenny Bourne (pictured) in one of her rare appearances at a Twilight Series event clocking 43 min 27 sec for the same 6.1 km course.

Ann Ingwersen notched up her best score for the Series with third best 123 points for her time of 35 min 46 sec for the 4.1 km Orange 2 course.  Fourth placed on 122 points, Chris Helliwell might have used familiarity with the area to help him navigate quickly through the maze of buildings at the ANU to record the second fastest time of 33 min 3 sec on the Orange 1 course. And Phil Walker notched up his third 121 pointer for the season from his fifth fastest time of 38 minutes flat for 61 km.

The progress points table is here.

The results from ANU are here.

The Series will continue at Aranda Hill (Bindubi St) on Wednesday and big fields are expected, especially if the weather is favourable.
