Season Pass Registration - Event Notes
The Metro Series is held in parkland and nature parks close to Canberra. Everyone is welcome and courses are available to suit a wide range of orienteering experience from novice to the more experienced. Courses range from 2km to 5km and very easy to medium navigation difficulty. A ‘Help’ person will be available to provide assistance at the event. Just turn up, no requirement to book ahead.
Enter-on-the-day. Start anytime between 10.30 and 12 noon. Course closure 1pm. Entry fees - member adult $10, member junior $7. $10 non-member juniors and $15 non-member adults. Hire of an electronic timing chip (sportident card) is $5. Cash payment accepted but EFTPOS preferred.
The ACT Saturday Series includes the ACT Junior League competition.
DIRECTIONS: Head west on Cotter Road. Turn right into Mt Stromlo Road. After 2km turn left towards the water treatment plant and then immediately right on to a sealed fire trail. Follow signs through the gate and down the sealed fire trail through a second gate. Turn left onto the unsealed fire trail and follow directions to parking on the right. Watch out for cyclists on the Mt Stromlo Observatory road and give cyclists the obligatory distance when passing.
COURSES: Orange 1 (5.1km), Orange 2 (3.6km), Green (3.2km), Blue (2.0km).
