WOC2018 begins in Latvia on Saturday

WOC2018 begins in Latvia on Saturday 4 August with the Sprint Distance Championships in the capital city, Riga. The weather forecast is warm with showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm, top temp 28°.

Sprint Qualification

The Sprint Qualification will be held in a part of Riga centre which is a mix of separate business areas, some residential and enclosed areas, and a park divided by impassable watercourse. Terrain form: flat area. Runability is very good.  Map: Scale: 1:4000, ISSOM, contour interval 2 m

Start times for Australian team members; all times are AEST (seven hours ahead of Latvian time)

Women. Heats A to C. 3.2-3.3 km. 32 to 33 per heat. Top 15 qualify for final.

Men. Heats A to C. 3.8-3.9 km. 38 to 39 per heat. Top 15 qualify for final (first starts 5.01 pm).

Live results: Live results will be available free, but Live TV and GPS tracking will cost €20, about AUD 33 for a ticket for the whole Championships.

Sprint Final

The Sprint Final will be held in the Old Town of Riga (UNESCO World heritage site) – a medieval city that continued to evolve over the centuries. Terrain form: flat area.  Runability: Very good. Map: Scale: 1:4000, ISSOM, contour interval 2 m.  First Start times for the Final will be: Women: 9.56 pm, Men: 10.56 pm.
