The Blue Lightning training squad will be holding a welcome brunch at Lake Ginninderra on Saturday 17 February.
All students in years 7 to 12 from Canberra and surrounds are invited to join this training squad. The Blue Lightning squad provides opportunities for all interested juniors to develop their orienteering skills and expertise by:
- Providing regular training in both skills and fitness,
- Organising social outings and team building activities,
- Organising training camps…….. AND LOTS MORE!
The welcome brunch will be an opportunity for all of us to meet, and to to map out planning for 2018 to further grow and enhance the skills of all high school orienteers. New members and their families are encouraged to attend. You can assist with the planning for the squad by completing a member survey.
The selection process for the 2018 ACT representative team will also be circulated and discussed, including selection trial dates. Please see the 2018 Schools Team Trials Information for more details. Valerie Barker (Selection Committee Convenor) and Gareth Candy (Selection Committee member), will both be in attendance so you can put names to faces and discuss aspects of the trial process.
